The third order of vocation in this system is the 'what you do', or how you are called to be of service (and livelihood) in the world. In the Catholic typology I was talking about, then, it goes:
1. The vocation of returning to God (following the Way of Christ)
2. Who you are called to do this with (i.e. hermit, celibate religious community, marriage & family)
3. What the particular form of your work/service in the world is.
In casual conversation, in the USA at least, we all tend to focus on the third as the basis of our self-identity. But this system would suggest that's last on the list.
This was a really great listen. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Maybe I missed it, but did you mention the 3rd vocation? The talk seemed to abruptly end.
